EHS is now offering elementary classes for the 2011-2012 school year. Classes will be held every Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The focus of the class will be centered around hands-on science and history lessons, with reading and creative writing integrated throughout. This weekly class will provide your child with engaging academics while in a social environment. Yearly Cost: $350 plus a $50 material fee. Price may be adjusted for late starters. Class Topics Around the World History – Throughout the year we will take a trip around the world, focusing on a different continent each month. During each unit, students will discover world cultures through dance and music, ethnic cuisine, and activities such as building Native American villages. The year will culminate in an end of year “Around the World” Feast for the families of each student.		Science in the Kitchen – We will take a closer look into the things that are found in our kitchens, experimenting with various liquids, foods, and chemical reactions. Exploring Outer Space – Our class will take a trip through the galaxy and investigate the infinite universe by creating our own planetarium. Sprouting with Life - Together we will discover the miracle of plant life and the beauty of God’s creation. This unit will include a yearlong nature diary, as well as projects such as making a self-sufficient bottle garden. Under the Sea - We will dive below the surface and become explorers of the mysterious underwater world. Students will create a classroom-size mural depicting the various oceanic levels and their inhabitants. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – Students will learn how to reduce their impact on the planet’s resources, reuse daily materials, and recycle through creative project
